Five of Our Favorite Disney Snacks

1. Lemon Blueberry Cupcake

This refreshingly delicious dessert can be found at the Gasparilla Island Grill at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The golden yellow cupcake is topped with a generous dollop of lemon icing, but the best part is what’s inside; a surprise center of sweet blueberry filling. And let’s not forget the proverbial icing on the cake; a juicy blueberry perched on top. By the way, if you’re up for a different sort of citrus confection, you can also try the Piña Colada cupcake, complete with coconut shavings!

2. Zebra Domes

Over at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, you’ll find a unique treat called a Zebra Dome. A what? Think of it as an exotic Tiramisu, comprised of an Amarula Cream Liquor mousse covered with white chocolate and drizzled with chocolate and chocolate shavings, all sitting atop a base of scrumptious cake. While it may not be for everyone, it’s definitely worth a try! You can find this exotic treat at Boma, but you can also pop over to the Mara, the Animal Kingdom Lodge quick service eatery named for a river flowing through Kenya and Tanzania.

3. Peanut Butter and Jelly Shake

We’ll give you fair warning; this one will make your knees buckle. This mouth-watering treat can be found at the 50’s Prime Time Café at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You’ll find lots of tempting treats here, including a warm apple crisp and a chocolate-peanut butter layered cake, but our favorite by far is the peanut butter & jelly milkshake. If you’ve never tried it, it may sound like an odd choice for a milkshake flavor, but you’ll quickly be taken in by the explosion of flavors in this confectionery concoction. Best of all, you can get one to go if you don’t have time to stay for lunch or dinner!

4. LeFou’s Brew

This one-of-a-kind beverage can only be found at Gaston’s Tavern in New Fantasyland, and its unique flavor is one you’ll never forget. What is it exactly? Well, it’s made with apple juice and a hint of toasted marshmallow, topped off with a passion fruit-mango foam. That’s all well and good, but what does it taste like? Surprisingly, it may remind you of bubble gum! For a truly unique snacking experience, visit Gaston’s around Christmastime and pair LeFou’s Brew up with a peppermint cupcake. Now that’s festive!

5. Mango Green Tea Slush

This unusual but refreshing beverage can be found at the Joy of Tea stand on the lagoon side of the China Pavilion in World Showcase. The Joy of Tea actually offers two varieties of smoothies; Strawberry Oolong Tea and Mango Green Tea (along with a variety of other great snacks from China). We’re partial to the Mango Green Tea ourselves, but the Strawberry Oolong Tea is just as delicious. Just beware of the brain freeze that will hit you right around the time you reach the Italy pavilion…
